Description
After being transported into the magical land of doors, you hear a sky door open above you. You see a purple ball fall out and as it hits the ground, your vision goes out. "What just happened?", you wonder until you see a red spaceman in front of you. There appears to be 11 of them lined up, bisected and facing their legs, almost like in a prayer. Suddenly, the lights flicker and you see something awaiting you...
Background
I always wanted to make a horror animation, so I decided to try to adapt my older animations into something new. I was mainly inspired by the manga, Chainsaw Man, because I really liked the striking visuals. I also read, "Designing and animation a horror creature", by Juho Lahti, to get all the horror elements right. I used many techniques I learned over the course of the year, including squash and stretch, anticipation, Python scripting to make the doors, Maya dynamics to make the drop, rendering, and various lighting techniques.
